Services Select, LLC has announced the 2010 Seal of Satisfaction certification mark and award recipient companies for Chattanooga. The awards and certificates were presented to representatives of each company on Friday evening, January 22nd during the black-tie 2010 Seal of Satisfaction Awards Dinner held at The Chattanoogan.
“The Seal of Satisfaction is a federally registered certification mark on which consumers can rely,” said Gary Miller, Services Select’s Chief Executive Officer. “Companies receiving the Seal have committed to uphold the highest standards of quality and exceptional service. It separates and elevates recipient companies from their competitors and certainly simplifies the life of the consumer wondering which company to contact when in need. Services Select has a 19-step evaluation and interview process, with five of those steps involving further elimination of companies not meeting the high standards and commitment required for certification.”

Chattanooga: Countertop maker's efficiencies put cash on table |

Staff Photos by Margaret Fenton -- Granite and other stone slabs are stacked at the Stone Services plant in Chattanooga that produces about 15 customized slabs a week, or about eight countertops.
Technology, efficiency, a new building and customer service are helping a Chattanooga countertop manufacturer grow, the owners say.
"This new space allow us to serve our customers faster and more efficiently," said Tony Allen, owner of Stone Services.
Mr. Allen and his partner, Keith Porter, opened the business in June 2004 with two workers, Mr. Allen said. Since then, the company has grown to 24 workers and outgrew its 6,400-square-foot building.

A roof water collection system with a 5,000-gallon cistern, water reclamation/filtration system and variable speed air-compressor aid in Stone Services eco-friendly business practices.
Chattanooga, Tennessee (AdGal Marketing) June 10, 2008 – Although “going green” is the latest craze and is often just a play on words, Stone Services of Chattanooga looks at conservationism and eco-friendly business practices as more than just a fad. It is a smart way to do business.
“By spending a few extra dollars on the front end on eco-friendly tools, means and methods,” said Tony Allen, co-owner of Stone Services, “we will actually save operating dollars in the long run. That, in turn, will help us provide better service to our customers as we are able to reinvest those savings into our company which allows us to stay competitive in the marketplace.”
Allen and partner Keith Porter started Chattanooga’s premier stone surfaces business in June 2004. Drawing on a background rooted deep in the construction industry, the two men saw a need for quality stone surfaces, hence the name. They got together and opened Stone Services in a 6400 sq. ft. building in Chattanooga, but as demand for their product grew, so did their need for a bigger building.

“We want our customers to have a positive experience from beginning to end when working with Stone Services,” said Allen.
Drawing on deep roots in the construction industry, the staff at Stone Services offers years of experience in creating comfortable and unique living spaces. So when the opportunity arose for Allen and Porter to hone their expertise in one area of that industry, natural stone surfaces, they brought with them the knowledge and experience of creative home design, construction and scheduling.
