Trade to Trade Coordination

We regularly coordinate with other tradesmen involved in our clients’ projects to ensure the proper placement of the various cutouts and structural bracing.

Project Measuring

All projects are measured using a patented laser based system. Our professional templating staff has the ability to measure a job and send it on its way to the CAD department in less than an hour, thereby reducing the amount of time a homeowner must dedicate to the process.

Product Procurement

Though we stock a wide selection of Natural Stone Slabs and Manufactured Slabs, it would be impossible for us to house every color available to you, the consumer. As such, we work hard to maintain a close working relationship with our importers so that we can easily access any product that we do not stock. Lead times will, of course, vary from product to product.

Digital imagery

We have invested in unique imaging technology which allows us to prepare a two dimensional mockup of our clients’ projects using the exact stone slabs that will be used in their home, eliminating much of the nerve wracking guesswork.

Fabrication

When designing our facility we took the time to benchmark ourselves against our competitors. We studied their facilities and analyzed their production methods. We took the best ideas, and tailored them to fit our space and our business practices. As such, we feel that we have one of the smartest and most efficient manufacturing programs in the industry.

Texturing

  • Polished: Unless otherwise requested, slabs arrive at our shop polished. The surface is glossy, smooth and not very porous. The light reflectance of highly polished crystals brings out the brilliant color in a slab of granite, marble or quartz.
  • Honed: Though the surface is still completely smooth, honing a slab removes any sheen. The colors are less vibrant with a honed finish than with a polished one. We recommend a color enhancing sealer for most honed products as it helps to bring the color back out. Note: we suggest honing marble if our clients express concerns regarding etching and scratching (the scratches still occur but are less visible when the surface has been honed).
  • Flamed: Exposing a slab of granite to intense heat causes the surface crystals to pop forming a rough surface. Though this finish has been used in exterior ground cover applications and on shower floors for decades, it is increasing in popularity for kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities. Note: there is no need to worry, exposure to pots and pans from your stove will not flame the surface of your countertop. Special equipment is required.
  • Leathered/Antiqued: The texture of a leathered or antiqued product falls somewhere between Honed and Flamed. Unlike a honed product, a leathered slab is not completely smooth. However, is it rough to the touch, as is a flamed product.

Installation

Our professionally trained and well mannered installation crews regularly receive outstanding reviews from our clients. As they are the people to actually enter our clients’ homes, they are the true face of our company. Therefore, they are vetted thoroughly. We drug test, run back ground checks and conduct industry knowledge assessments regularly. You won’t find a better group of installers anywhere.

Routine Sealing

We offer a number of sealing and maintenance options; from a fifteen year sealer to DIY suggestions to an annual sealing and maintenance program, we have something for every homeowner and every stone. To be sure that you select the option that is right for you – and your product – check with your project manager.
